Our colorful canvas and cotton and linen fabrics are printed by hand in an old New England factory. To begin, workers lay out yardage on top of tables covered with wax. With the fabric in place, mesh screens burned with signature Hable designs are locked into stoppers. Printers guide the layout by applying even pressure on the screens, insuring a clean and crisp transfer of form and color. As the process continues, patterns emerge with each new repeat and layer of pigment printed, bringing Susan’s hand-drawn and whimsical artwork to life.
