Description from A Vida Portuguesa
It is estimated that the word almotolia – of Arabic origin, with the meaning of “glazed clay pot for oil” – has existed in the Portuguese language since the 14th century, in the forms of almetolia and almotelia. The name always raises doubts about its spelling, but the stylized object, this is part of the collective imagination of national homes, were it not for the Portuguese of the greatest producers and lovers of the precious “nectar” of the olives.
Call it almotolia (like us), olive oil, almontaria, or cruet, what is certain is that Guimarães & Rosa produces some of the most beautiful we have ever seen and that is why in 2019, A Vida Portuguesa started to market them, as well passevites and other small objects.
Bringing together the best of tradition – each piece has a high percentage of manual work – and progress – made of stainless steel that are resistant, durable and safe for use in making food -, the brand manufactures kitchen utensils of the highest quality.
In his own words: “we produce simple objects that represent more than just their functionality. They are objects deeply rooted in Mediterranean traditions and way of life, and which carry with them a long heritage, of close and sincere relationships, whether within the family or among friends. Our aim is to share this legacy with our customers and partners “.
We couldn’t say it, or think it over.
