Description from Kaufmann Mercantile
The DeWit dibber is made from Swedish made boron steel, which is roll-forged by hand. The solid steel is then burnished to a black patina finish for a long life of planting seeds.
The handle is made of ash wood from the hills of Slovakia – all government approved forests to reduce its environmental impact. The wood is durable yet elastic. The top part of the dibber in made from brass to protect the tip from damage, should you hit a rogue root.
The dibber is put together and sharpened by the time-honored traditions of the Dewit family blacksmiths, a five-generation small town Dutch company known for its craftsmanship. Willem de Witt started his gardening tool company on a spring day in 1898, and the tools still have their ancestors’ antique appearance. The same factory, machines, and techniques are used to this day in Kornhorn, a small village near the city of Groningen in the north of Holland.
