Description from Design Within Reach
The Copeland Task Light (2005) embodies a mid-century form, but with the quality of a classic Knoll® product – all at a startling price point. Stephan Copeland designed his task lamp, available in two sizes, with a pioneering spring mechanism that provides smooth and easy movement from the circular joints. The shade rotates 360 degrees to offer either a directed or diffuse pool of light. The weighted base has a circular cut-out that echoes not only the arm’s joints, but the iconic work of mid-century designers like Arne Jacobsen. The light’s ease of use is not an accident: “What excites me is making the interaction between people and products more fluid,” says Copeland about his design process. The Copeland Task Light, which is made with 75% recycled materials, received the Best of NeoCon Silver Award in 2005. Bulb (included): compact florescent (can also use incandescent).
