Description from Lumens
The design team Claesson Koivisto Rune believes that in order for a technical lamp to be successful, it must be self-explanatory to anyone who uses it. Thus, their w081w Wall Lamp (2008) can be quickly repositioned with one hand, simply by grabbing hold of the handle that comes out of the middle of the adjustable head. Inspired by surgical lamps, the three designers studied these medical devices and devised a way to eliminate shadows created by the handle. The lamp’s warm white light is produced by LEDs with glare-protecting optical lenses and a diffuser. The light is dimmable, and the heat produced by the LEDs dissipates across the large surface of the lamphead. The arms and head pivot on smooth-gliding ball bearings, and the head also rotates left and right.
