Description from The Butler's Closet
Recently I discovered an excellent new Furniture Tonic made by a highly regarded French furniture restorer, Christophe Pourny.
After an apprenticeship in his uncle’s antiques showroom on Rue Jacob in Paris, he moved to New York and opened a studio specializing in French polish, period finishes, and antique restoration.
Christophe’s furniture tonics are made by hand in small batches in Brooklyn. Christophe has created two polishes–Furniture Tonic and Color Reviver.
The Furniture Tonic “nurtures wood as it restores the luster and shine that time and sun can diminish. The tonic is made from natural, non-toxic ingredients that are friendly to the environment and sourced in North America.” The tonic includes organic linseed and walnut oils, beeswax and a natural cleaner and drying agent.
To make sure you are fully equipped when you begin to polish, I designed a large polishing cloth from 100% cotton flannel free of bleaches or dyes. The cloth is 14″ x 18″ and soft as butter.
When you purchase a bottle of the Furniture Tonic or Color Reviver the bottle comes with two of these beautiful polishing cloths.
