In Poland, the making of ornaments with straw dates back to the time when the only available materials for decorations were those that were found on the farm. During the beginning of the Christmas season, village folk would decorate homes creatively and ornately using straw, paper, yarn, and cloth ornaments.
These star/snowflake motifs ornaments are based on traditional Polish straw ornaments held together by gold colored string. The ornaments are very different from the majority of modern Christmas decorations, and are a unique addition to any Christmas Tree.
