Description from Quitokeeto
Chambly Perles is the little black dress of silverplate flatware. The Perles motif is an unbroken string of tiny beads lining gentle curved silhouettes. It is rumored the design is a silversmith’s compliment to a string of pearls worn by Madame de Pompadour at the Court of Versailles.
There are a number of other Perles interpretations, at different price points, and we’ve looked at a wide range of them. We’d argue this is the best example, particularly if you’re looking for a heritage-quality placesetting that can seamlessly evolve with your table, independent of trends. Compared to others, Chambly Perles feels more substantial in the hand, and the company is known to have produced perhaps the best silverplate available, in France, since 1894. The silver content (42 microns of pure silver, equating to 100 grams of silver per set) is guaranteed by French law and evidenced by the square stamp imprinted on each piece.
This Perles placesetting consists of five pieces:
- Salad/Dessert Fork 7 3/8”
- Dinner Fork 8 1/4”
- Knife 9 5/8”
- Soup/Dessert Spoon 7 1/2″
- Teaspoon 5 3/4″
