CH417 Tray Table

Generally regarded as the “chair-maker of chair-makers,” Hans J. Wegner designed more than 400 chairs over the course of his prolific career, in addition to other memorable pieces such as cabinets, desks and tables. Minimal yet functional in its design, his CH417 Tray Table (1970) consists of two separate components: a reversible top with a different finish on each side and a collapsible base. Used together, they create a small coffee table; used alone, the top becomes a convenient tray ideal for serving light refreshments at gatherings. The top also features an integrated carrying handle, and the base folds up in a single motion, making CH417 perfect for temporary use in tight spaces – just set up when you need it and break down when you don’t.
