Hayley is a rising star in the constellation of Scottish textile artists. Her expressive hand application of pigment through silk screen onto natural linen results in hanging artworks of hidden depths that echo the tones and textures of landscapes from different parts of Scotland. Burnt Umber is a piece inspired by a visit to Shetland. The rich ochres conjure the peat bogs and heather plains as they catch the sun in the dying embers of high summer. The work is framed in smoked oak.
