Description from Horne
The Bellevue Lamp was Arne Jacobson's first lighting design inspired by modern tubular steel manufacturing and the modernists design of the Bauhaus era. The 45 degree cut steel shade made many subsequent appearances on his later designs. The lamp's form directs the light without excessive glare. The simple goose-neck design and clean construction echoes the modernist ambitions of his peers such as Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe and Alvar Aalto.
