Description from Merchant No. 4
Aran Rug was designed by Christien Meindertsma. Her inspiration comes from the common Irish fisherman's sweater called Aran – a sweater that has complex textured stitch patterns. The Aran Rug is handknit using the wool of 18 merino sheep. Each rug comes with a Flocks tag, identifying the sheep whose wool was used to create the rug. Aran can be shown-off as a wall hanging or paraded underfoot.
Meindertsma's work has been exhibited all over the world and is part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum London, MoMA New York and Textiel Museum Tilburg.
Material: Wool/Texelaar
