Description from Design Within Reach
Greg Benson and Jeff Taly believe that “using green products should not mean that you have to sacrifice anything; it should be better in every way than its non-eco-friendly counterpart.” This philosophy has informed their path from designing skateboard parks to outdoor furniture. Using the same materials that proved virtually indestructible when skated upon, they created the Adirondack Collection (2008). “Our first chairs looked a lot like our skate ramps,” says Benson, but they continued to refine their designs. These pieces are made of recycled plastic reclaimed from post-consumer goods like milk jugs, which can be recycled again if necessary. Since Loll was founded in 2006, its use of recycled materials has kept millions of milk jugs out of landfills. The fade-resistant, waterproof, maintenance-free Adirondack Collection is made to last for years. Each piece ships flat to save on packing materials; simple assembly required (Allen wrench included).
