NYC-based designer Zak Profera of textile and interior design house Zak+Fox partners with UK-based Sofa.com on a new line of upholstered sofas and chairs; we think they’re instant heirlooms.
The four patterns on offer–Basilica, Little River, Cuku, and Tibetano–are inspired by Zak’s travels abroad and are printed in New York onto luxurious heavyweight Belgian linen. Available to order from Sofa.com or in person at their New York showroom.
Above: The Sark Chair in Tibetano. Zak designed Tibetano with sofa.com’s Sark chair in mind: “The motif’s silhouette is adapted from an ancient ornamental Tibetan design, with a well-worn texture that makes it feel like a beloved heirloom piece.”
Above The: Iggy Two Seat Sofa in violet Basilica; $1,930. Of the maze-like Basilica design, Zak says, “It takes its name from the watery labyrinths that lie beneath Istanbul. Its endless pattern is an homage to the famous Medusa heads that reside in the darkness.”
