The Bicycle Backpack, Oregon Style

A few years ago, Tim Adam Maynard began sewing his own backpacks out of his home studio in Portland, Oregon. Today, the roll top backpacks are a cult classic, spotted on the backs of bicyclists and laptop-bearing creatives from Portland to New York and beyond.

The bags are made of two layers of weatherproof canvas shell, cotton webbing, and polyester liner in an alternating color. With double-stitched seams and a reinforced bottom layer, the simple design is built to last. Tim Adams Bags in medium (for laptops and books) and large (for longer trips) are available at Canoe.
