We are longtime admirers of this classic Tribeca kitchen (see Architect Visit: Ike Kligerman Barkley in New York), located in a former butter warehouse and featuring a melange of materials and textures, including stainless steel, bamboo, white enamel, and exposed brick. We checked in with the architects for sourcing ideas; below are ideas for recreating the look.

Above: The made-to-measure brushed stainless steel countertop with integrated sink is from Specialty Stainless. For a lower-cost alternative, consider combining separate pieces from Ikea, such as the stainless steel Boholmen sink ($85.99) and the faux-stainIess Numerar countertop ($79.99 for a slab measuring approximately 25 by 76 inches) and Fastbo wall panels ($19.99 for sheets measuring approximately 17 by 23 inches).

Above: The architects specified the 48-inch-long Viking Professional Series Canopy Range Hood, which permits mounting cabinets flush against the sides of the hood; prices start at $2,069 at AJ Madison.
Above: Viking 48-inch gas ranges come in a variety of configurations; prices start at $6,799 for the Viking Custom Series VGCC5488Bx at AJ Madison.
Above: The Clark Duplex Outlet Brass Plate in brushed nickel blend in with the stainless steel backsplash; available at Rejuvenation; $68 for a pack of 10. Black duplex receptacle (which add a “deliberate punctuation note,” according to the architects) are available at Lowe’s for $4.79 each.
Above: The architects used Kohler’s Dickinson Sink in enameled cast-iron as a second countertop sink; $1,160 from FaucetDirect (for more options, see 10 Easy Pieces: White Kitchen Sinks).
Above L: The Moso Bamboo Slab Cabinet Door is from Holiday Kitchens; other suppliers include Grasswood Cabinets, which makes modular bamboo cabinets in half-inch increments, and Pure Kitchen, which custom makes bamboo cabinets in a variety of finishes. Above R: The Linnea Flush Pull; $20 at Cabinet Hardware Universe.
Above: Dove Gray Batter Bowl from LA-based Bauer Pottery Company; $50.
Above: We like the use of lab flask as a vase; the Erlenmeyer Flask (2000 mL) is $32.29 at The Grape and Granary. For a laboratory-inspired vase with a more organic feel, consider CB2’s Lab Vase; currently $3.95. Photo via Etsy seller Ethan Ollie.
