Chef Frederik Bille Brahe and designer Caroline Brasch Nielsen live with their two young children on the top floor of a 17th-century house in Copenhagen. While the bones of the apartment are decidedly old, the kitchen is strikingly contemporary, thanks to cabinet fronts designed by Belgian artists Muller Van Severen for Reform. And the fact that this humble, charmingly bric-a-brac kitchen is where Bille Brahe cooks daily for his family—and tests recipes for his three cafes and forthcoming cookbook—is inspiring.
Here are the key elements of the kitchen, with matching or similar sources for each.
