The partners at Retrouvius aim to “bridge the gap between destruction and construction.” Founders Adam Hills and Maria Speake studied architecture before starting their salvage and design business in Glasgow; in 1997, they moved to London and set up shop in Kensal Green. The duo recently overhauled a storefront on Harrow Road, which affords entry into their warehouse facility.
Among the wares on offer:
Above: Reclaimed Oak Parquet Flooring; £22 per square meter.
Above: Complete Set of Nine Clocks, manufactured by Solari & Co. in Italy. Installed in 1971, they overlooked the London Stock Exchange until the mid-1990s.
Above: Metal Rocking Chair designed in 1948 by Ernest Race; reissued by Retrouvius (manufactured exclusively by Race Furniture Ltd. to the original specifications); upholstered in linen, in a choice of three colors; £395. See our earlier post Antiques & Vintage: Ernest Race.
