Newly opened Ma(i)sonry in Yountville takes wine tasting to a new level. Housed in a rustic stone building dating back to 1904 (it was built by an Italian mason using stone quarried from the eastern hills of Napa Valley), Ma(i)sonry is the brainchild of Blackbird Vineyard owner Michael Polenske. Designed in collaboration with architects Gould Evans, interiors maven Erin Martin, and landscape architects Roche + Roche, Ma(i)sonry combines art gallery, design shop, and wine tasting room under one roof. Sample a rotating collection of boutique wines, browse the furniture collection (Hudson Furniture, Ron Mann, and Alexandra von Furstenberg are represented), or head outdoors to the landscaped garden outfitted with vintage artifacts and hand-crafted furniture (all, of course, for sale).
