Alexis Swanson Traina of Oakville's Swanson Vineyards calls the winery's recently opened Sip Shoppe "a candy store for adults." Traina (she's the daughter of the proprietors) enlisted Andy Spade of Partners & Spade to assist in the concept of the space; the duo came up with a mix of high and low style, with a dose of whimsy (red and white carnival stripes on the walls; wine served in glass Dixie cups, mini Riedel O glasses, and jewel-toned crystal cordials; and a selection of Modern House Wines with labels such as "Please Forgive Me," "Swell Swill," and more). For information on the Sip Shoppe, go to Swanson Vineyards; to read Traina's musings on "Napa for the curious and eccentric," check out Alexis' Blog.
