When I lived in London, I used to frequent the Nicole Farhi stores like a stalker. The French-born, London-based Farhi (she’s married to the playwright David Hare and lives in Hampstead) may be better known as a clothing designer, but she has a pitch-perfect eye when it comes to interiors. Her 202 shops–one in London (202 Westbourne Grove) and one in New York (75 Ninth Avenue)–combine home decor emporium, café, and men and women’s clothing in one venue. Farhi creates an effortlessly chic ambience, with vintage pieces (midcentury French lighting) and new (Henry Dean glassware) happily coexisting.
