Shopper’s Diary: Frozen Fountain in Amsterdam

On a recent trip to Amsterdam, I stopped in at the must-see design shop Frozen Fountain, located on the picturesque Prisengracht district, facing a canal. Owners Cok de Rooy and Dick Dankers offer a range of international furniture lines with an emphasis on Dutch designers such as Piet Hein Eek, Claudy Jongstra, Studio Job, Marcel Wanders, and Hella Jongerius. Wares are casually displayed in the sprawling, two-level space. I lingered for nearly an hour, admiring the abundance of homegrown talent.
