Shopper’s Diary: Darr in Brooklyn

Vintage furnishings shop Darr was a welcome addition when it opened several years ago on a stretch of Atlantic Avenue historically populated with antique shops; co-owners Hicham Benmira, a Casablanca-born interior designer, and former video editor Brian Cousins started their venture specializing in antique taxidermy and one-of-a-kind curiosities. As the neighborhood evolved into a shopping destination, the duo have expanded their offerings; they have an especially keen eye for antique European glassware and white porcelain serving dishes, artfully displayed against the black Gothic-inspired interior. Darr is located at 369 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn.
