Our favorite kind of shop: County Ltd. in LA’s Silver Lake, a collection of modernist essentials from a group of like-minded friends. Kirill Bergart (a former merchandiser at Union Made) and his partner Joe Lorens handle the furniture and “homewares” side of things, as they say. Phillip Proyce and Taylor Caruso are the creative duo behind Lady White Co., the workwear-inspired clothing line on offer at the shop.
“Our vision was to showcase our favorite pieces from both the furniture and the clothing world (our tagline is ‘T-shirts and Chairs’),” Bergart says. “We loved that the street was full of history and architecture firms. In addition to our brands, we carry vintage furniture and objects from around the world, new and vintage ceramics, new homewares, and unisex clothing produced in Japan and USA. Our vision here is to showcase our favorite pieces from both the furniture and clothing world that we would ourselves enjoy in our own homes.”
