Shopper’s Diary: Comfort and Calm at The Interior in Sag Harbor

August 17, 2017

Interior designer and stylist Stephanie Michaan’s shop, The Interior in seaside Sag Harbor, New York, offers accessories for the home—from books and candles to everyday dinnerware—that evoke a sense of calm. Every item tells a story—most are handmade—and reveals Michaan’s love of travel, food, and the good life in general. “My design philosophy is to create spaces that feel like an escape,” says  “With the shop, I wanted to carry over that philosophy.”

You’ll need to seek her out, though; the shop, at 11 Bridge Street, is off the beaten path, but has become “a special little oasis in the middle of town. People are finding me and spreading the word, which has been exciting.”

For more on the shop and its designers, follow along with the store’s Journal.
