Remodeling 101: Easy-to-Install and Affordable Accent Walls

October 8, 2018

When we first introduced readers to Armstrong Ceilings, it was to show you how their ceiling planks and tiles could instantly transform an ugly drop ceiling (see that post here: Remodeling 101: An Easy (and Affordable) Way to Fix Ugly Ceilings). But don’t let the name fool you, Armstrong Ceilings specializes in more than just ceilings, and they clued us in to a clever hack: using their wood-look planks and metal tiles to create a low-fuss accent wall, no demolition required. Here’s a look:

To achieve this effect, prepare the wall with backing material or furring strips, then use the clips enclosed in a box of Armstrong Ceilings’ WoodHaven Planks to affix the panels to the wall. For detailed instructions, see Armstrong Ceilings’ WoodHaven Planks Installation Guide.

Here, a paneled wall adds a dose of glamour to an otherwise-neutral entryway. Metallaire installation is similarly low-maintenance: Use construction adhesive and conehead nails to apply the panel to the wall.
