Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa collaborated with washi paper maker Onao to produce a line of products called SIWA ("wrinkled paper" in Japanese). The paper is made from a combination of wood pulp and polyolefin, and is remarkably smooth to the touch. It is also strong and highly durable, as well as tear- and water-resistant. Most of the line is available from New People in San Francisco.
