Object of Desire: Julie Cloutier Stoneware Pendant Lamp

Tomales-based Julie Cloutier spent more than a decade working in small SF architecture firms before striking out on her own as a ceramicist. “My ceramic work focuses on handheld sculptures, functional wares, and everyday objects,” she says. “My architectural background informs my work,” which leans toward minimalism. We especially like her one-of-a-kind ceramic pendant lights, which she makes to order. Here’s a look.

Above: “In collaboration with electrician Rico Duenas, each stoneware pendant is wired with the highest quality electrical fittings,” Cloutier says. The Pendant C Lamp is made to order and costs $550.

Above: Each fixture includes a wheel-thrown ceramic canopy for ceiling installation and is professionally wired with a nine-foot cotton-covered pulley cord with brass hardware.
