Object of Desire: Iphepha Spiral Candles

Recently while scrolling through my endless Instagram feed, I came across an artfully staged, high-drama image of a spiralized candle that made me stop in my tracks. A quick search showed that the sculptural candle was made by German brand Iphepha. Founded by designer Hannah Maria Knoth, Iphepha was originally an online purveyor of specialty wallpapers. Over the years they’ve branched out into other homewares, including their Iphepha Spiral Candle collection.

“Our Iphepha candles are an homage to the sweet life of Italy,” according to the website. “A design inspired by the most breathtaking places, the unmistakable cuisine, and the burning passion.” Though a trip to Italy is not in the cards right now, I’m willing to  settle for this brightly colored showstopper of a candle. N.B.: In the US, the candles are available from Pon the Store.
