When I first spotted Toast’s washed indigo bib apron, it struck me as the kind of apron you could live in. Start something on the stove, sit down to read while it simmers, welcome guests for brunch–while never having to take it off. An apron like this in our book is the perfect uniform.
Above: The Fine Stripe Apron is about 37 inches in length with two large pockets in the front; £55 from Toast. (The UK company sends orders to the US within 2-4 days for a flat shipping fee of £7.)
Above: The apron is made of yarn-dyed cotton stripe in a washed out blue.
Above L: The bib apron’s shoulder straps button in place in the back. Above R: An alternative design, a half apron in the same fabric, ties around the waist.
Above: The half apron, or Waiter’s Apron, £39.
