Lighting: Stave Luminary in Napa

June 11, 2010

Stave Luminary is the work of Napa Valley resident and Brit native Adam Goldring, who came up with the idea of fashioning wine barrels into handcrafted light fixtures. Goldring uses the staves from reclaimed French oak wine barrels, which he disassembles and dries out before crafting them into their final shape; the interior shade is made from natural upholstery-grade burlap. The wood differs according to barrel, but each is wine stained on the inside, weathered on the exterior, and measures between 30-37 inches high,. Each fixture comes with a five-foot adjustable hemp rope and costs $2,400; contact Stave Luminary directly to purchase.
