Remains Lighting founder David Calligeros got his start selling antiques from a Chelsea loft in 1996; his venture has grown to encompass four showrooms in the US and two in Europe. Along with his wife and business partner, Alix MacGowan, Calligeros has transformed Remains Lighting into a respected purveyor of refurbished antique lighting as well as new designs under the Remains Lighting Permanent Collection. Calligeros is an advocate of sustainablity and reuse: Remains fixtures are designed and manufactured domestically, most parts are sourced from within the US, and all manufacturing takes place in the company’s LEED-certified factory in Brooklyn.
