Lighting: Beute Cardboard Lamp by Michael Wolke

June 30, 2011

Michael Wolke works out of a studio in Cologne, Germany, where he creates everyday objects from recycled materials. His Beute Lamp is hand-made from discarded cardboard (something that often finds its way to the trash in many households). Wolke cuts and compresses the ribbed cardboard and uses it as raw material when forming his lamps, which are available in two sizes; the small (40 cm by 30 cm) is €280 and the large (60 cm by 30 cm) is €380 (custom sizes are also available). The Beute can be purchased at Wolke's studio and at ShowRaum in Berlin. For more information, go to Michael Wolke.
