Restaurant Visit: White Slab Palace in New York

December 22, 2010

Located at the corner of Allen and Delancey on the Lower East Side, White Slab Palace is a Nordic-style cocktail bar (signature drinks include the Bloody Beet, made with beet juice). Owned by Swedish photographer Annika Sundvik and her husband, John Lavelle, the boite features a moody vibe (we especially like the distressed teal blue velvet banquets and stools) and salvaged pieces, including a mantelpiece from a Masonic temple in Yonkers. N.B. See a slideshow of the space at New York Magazine.
