Fjäll (Swedish for "mountain") is the name of an Australian mountain lodge in Falls Creek, Victoria, which looks decidedly more Scandinavian than it does Aussie. This was the aim of interior designers Hecker Phelan and Guthrie, who, along with Salter Architects, turned a drab 1980s structure into a Scandi-style ski lodge. We love the wooden walls, limed wood floors, and neutral color palate, all of which provide a backdrop for tongue-in-cheek details such as wall-mounted wooden deer heads, antler wall sconces, and elk door numbers.
