Designers Juliette Arent and Sarah-Jane Pyke of Sydney-based Arent & Pyke are fearless with color, mixing and matching just about every shade in the book. Case in point: their fresh-looking design for the newly opened Alex Hotel in Perth, located in the city’s Northbridge neighborhood and designed by Space Agency architects.
“Our brief was to design a ‘hotel as home,’ ” they say. “We wanted the Alex to give you a sense of wonderment, as if you were visiting the house of a treasured friend.” The interior design, furnishings, and styling imagines the richness and layering of a story, and the informality of a city crash pad.
