A year into homeownership, my partner and I are turning our attention to curb appeal: painting our front steps, planting native flowers, and ensuring our little house makes an appealing first impression to all who come by. Among our inspirations? These handmade house numbers—made using the traditional Italian method of sfgraffito, meaning “to scratch”, and entirely different from run-of-the-mill, mass-made numbers.
