We’re longtime admirers of artist and designer Lindsey Adelman, whose sculptural, otherworldly lights grace some of our favorite homes (like this and this), so we were particularly excited to learn that she has created a new wallpaper collection for Calico Wallpaper. Dubbed “Eden,” the designs grew out of the time she spent during her self-imposed residency on Belle-Île, an island off the coast of Brittany, France.
Surrounded by so much natural beauty, she and her friend took to foraging every day: “We picked strange plants, flowers, seeds, weeds, both dead and alive. Sometimes reaching into a bush to pull one stalk was like putting your hand in a drawerful of pins,” she says. “I painted one at a time, choosing a single color for each as I went along and watched them become something else.”
Calico collaborated with Lindsey to turn her individual renderings of nearly 100 plants into a composition for her wallpaper collection. Have a look at the beautiful results.
