Furniture: Centerbrook Table by Mark Simon

Designed by Connecticut-based architect Mark Simon, the Centerbrook Table is a modern take on a classic farm table. Crafted of solid Appalachian black cherry, the table is generously proportioned (eight feet long and four feet wide) and costs $2,900 at Curran Online. A matching Centerbrook Bench is available for $900. The Centerbrook table won the Good Design Award for 2009, which is conferred annually by the Chicago Athenaeum together with the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
