Designed by newcomers Very Good & Proper, the Canteen Utility Chair is "inspired by the ubiquitous postwar school chair" and made its debut last month at the London Design Festival. The company’s mandate is to "produce considered, practical, relevant, and reasonably priced products, with longevity in mind." Made with a powder-coated steel frame (available in a variety of colors) with a pressed beech plywood seat and back, the chair is cheerful and utilitarian. The Canteen Utiltiy Chair is available from Twenty Twenty One for £217; for purchase in the US, contact Neo-Utility.
