Recently on Remodelista, we took a virtual tour of The Aspiring Cook, a 232-year-old house turned holiday let; previously, contributor Nell Card took us on a tour of The Curator’s Apartment, a light-filled apartment, redone.
What do they have in common? The properties are two out of three in The Curated Collection, a trio of design-led holiday retreats in Bath, the project of creator, designer, and property developer Tina Liu. And if you’re noting a theme—curator, cook—it’s no accident: Each historic flat is designed with a particular (fictional) character in mind, giving visitors the sense that they’re housesitting for a particularly design-minded friend. “Each of our holiday lets has been lovingly renovated from a run-down state,” explains Tina and co. on the Curated Collection site, “always with a theme in mind from the start, inspired either by historic features present in the building itself or the local area.”
And who might live in the third and final flat? The Fairytale Writer, a dreamy, quiet sort who lives in this mews house tucked just behind The Circus. If the other two lodgings have palettes both moody (The Curator’s Apartment) and saturated (The Aspiring Cook), The Fairytale Writer’s house is suitably soft.
