DIY: Nautical Cleat as Toilet Roll Holder

June 11, 2013

If there’s one thing we know by now it’s that, when it comes to creative ways to tie up the bath TP, the possibilities are endless. There’s the branch, the string, the modified wire hanger and now, for coastal dwellers: a nautical cleat as an improvised roll holder.

White Poly Braided Rope
Above: Thread White Braided Poly Rope ($13.99 for the half inch diameter from Ace Hardware) through the PVC and TP roll together and tie it all up.

Above: Tie it all up to a vintage cleat like a Pair of Chrome Vintage Boat Cleats for $12 from Brad Andres on Etsy.

Don’t want to bother with a DIY project? A favorite quick-to-purchase holder is the Roll With It by Pete Oyler; we like it in Neon Green and in Unlacquered Brass.
