Southern California–based designer Michaela Scherrer was inspired by UK architect John Pawson and minimalist furniture artist Donald Judd in this project for the Pasadena Showcase House. Working with Pasadena designer Rozalynn Woods, Scherrer created a spa-like sanctuary within the interior of a 1940s pool house; we especially like the designers' take on window coverings: sheer shades in a wood frame that are raised or lowered by cables attached to the ceiling, based on a design spotted in Europe.
