Osaka-born designer Rie Yagura has lived in Paris since she was 25, working under the name Mademoiselle Y. "These two separate worlds—Asia and Europe—inspire me to develop and create unique things," she says. "My theme is the luxury raglady." She has designed a variety of spaces in Paris, both public and private, as well as stores and other projects in Japan, including the Notre Escalier store in Tokyo. We especially like her lighting creations, made of eclectic found objects like car headlights, vacuum cleaner parts, photographer's tripods, bicycle lights, and vintage glass globes; Intérieurs in New York carries a small selection of Yagura's work.
