The vibrantly colored tiles in today's Hotels, Lodging & Restaurants: Intelligentsia Coffee Shop by Bestor Architecture are from Los Angeles–based Granada Tiles, which derives its name and inspiration from the historic city of Granada in Nicaragua, where the tiles are manufactured. Skilled craftsmen use a centuries-old process: Pigmented cement is poured into intricate metal molds, then pressed and left to cure (no firing is involved). Go to Granada Tiles for more information or to order a sample tile.
