- New Yorkers: Stop into Molded, “a group exhibition that celebrates materials and traditions that have shaped Black culture,” presented by Good Black Art and TRNK, open now through Feb. 28 at the TRNK showroom, 8 Jay Street in NYC.
- Meet the makers, via the MoMA Design Store.
- And an iconic dinnerware design is back: “I grew up with these plates designed by Massimo and Lella Vignelli and wrote about them in a post that I updated after their frontman, Alan Heller, died,” writes Margot. “They’ve been out of production for the last few years, and I was happy to see that they’re not only back but offered again in rainbow color.”
- Detritus (and tattoo) artist Duke Riley has designed three patterns for the wallpaper line Flavor Paper; we particularly like Tidal Fool (and also recommend Riley’s show Death to the Living, Long Live Trash, up until April 23 at the Brooklyn Museum).
- Also in NY: Shoppe Object, launching Feb. 5 at Pier 36.
- And going on Feb. 19: a Day of Remembrance at the Noguchi Museum.
- Julie’s noting Studio Bartleby’s seconds and samples sale; today (Saturday, Feb. 4) is the last day: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn.
- Two new collections of note: lighting by Zio and Sons for Mitzi and rugs by graphic designer and art director Amanda Jane Jones for Revival.
- And bedding co. Piglet in Bed launched our new colorways for their linen sheets; we particularly like this sunny hue.
- A letter of recommendation, seed starter’s edition.
- And in case you missed it: our editors’ favorite reads for a cold weekend.
