As summer winds down, fall schedules are filling up. What’s on our radar:
- Margot and Julie are planning a visit to the Fattobene Pop-Up Shop at the MoMA Design Shop in Soho, on display until September 29. Founded by Anna Lagorio and Alex Carnevali in 2015, Fattobene is a line of rediscovered “everyday archetypes that pay tribute to Italian craftsmanship and timeless design” (think handmade straw whisk brooms and Valobra soap from Genoa).
- Henrybuilt partners with the Magdalena Keck Gallery, which represents artist Joan Waltemath, on an installation of paintings and drawings from Waltemath’s Torso/Roots series. “Joan Waltemath: Relational Ambience” runs from August 26 through October 17, 2019, at the Henrybuilt showroom in Soho, located at 12 Crosby Street.
- The Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, NY, just announced a new schedule of dance performances for “Brendan Fernandes: Contract and Release,” a collaboration between the museum and Fernandes, who “works at the intersection of dance and the visual arts.”
- One of Remodelista’s favorite furniture makers, Pinch, has recently opened a new shop on Ebury Street in one of London’s most happening interior design districts, Pimlico Road in Belgravia.
- Boxwood Linen, purveyors of fine linens for the home, is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend (August 31 and September 1) with “two days of cake, refreshments, and an in-store sale.” The shop is located at 22 Main Street, Chatham, NY.
- Buffy Organically Dyed Sheets, maker of organic bedding, just launched a collection of naturally dyed sheets; the collection is made using non-toxic natural ingredients such as walnut, turmeric, gardenia, and pomegranate.
- Mark your calendars: Open House London runs from September 21 to 22, offering free entry to London’s best building.
- Rug designer extraordinaire Luke Irwin has opened a new showroom at 46 Pimlico Road London SW1. “This larger gallery space allows us to showcase more of our collections and is at the heart of the Pimlico Road,” Luke says.
- Annie is admiring Sarah Sherman Samuel’s new line of abstract (and well priced) flatweave rugs for Lulu and Georgia.
- In our ongoing My First Garden series over on Gardenista, Fan tackles the unglamorous issue of composting and tells us how to get started.
