Moving past summer and well into September, we’re looking towards design events and goings-on from London to D.C. to Brooklyn. Here are a few that caught our eye this week.
- Resident botanical artist Margot is taking part in a group art show that opens today at The Invisible Dog Art Center, a former factory in Boerum Hill. Stop in to see her installation: city-foraged plants on a fountain wall in the gallery’s courtyard.
- We recently posted on British block-printing outfit Hare’s Tail Printing and are intrigued to see they’re offering a few workshops in the UK this fall, each teaching the art of block-printing by hand. Head here for more info and to book.
- D.C. readers: Stop in to Intersections: Where Diversity, Equity, and Design Meet, a series of workshops at The National Building Museum. The first event is September 16; see the full slate of offerings here.
- Margot is admiring these colorful lamps by painter and drawer turned ceramicist Christopher Russell.
- Londoners, check out R for Repair: London x Singapore, a new exhibit opening at the V&A London on September 17, celebrating the art of mending and fixing. (There are many more goings-on as part of London Design Festival 2022; see the full schedule here.)
- BDDW is hosting an auction to support John Fetterman’s run for the Senate; head here for more info. Auction closes Monday, September 12.
- A back-to-school favorite from the archives: storage lockers in game-changing colors.
- And, always: in praise of the teeny-tiny niche workspace.
- A wildflower roof on a home by the Thames, designed by Fraher & Findlay.
- And a tribute to the Queen, via Steele Canvas.
