At La Bionda Hotel in the Costa Brava beach town of Begur in Spain, interior designers Pol Castells and Benito Escat of Quintana Partners updated a 17th-century private house into an eight-room hotel with a sympathy toward the historic while incorporating modern details and entirely idiosyncratic design decisions.
The bathroom of what is called the Valentina suite exemplifies this well with a historic portrait front and center, a copper bathtub, 60s-era wood cladding, and creative tile implementation. Here we profile a list of similar sources to recreate the look.
