Cassandra Ellis, a New Zealander living in London, specializes in quiet, subdued interiors furnished with a mix of classics–Chesterfield sofas, tufted daybeds, roll arm chairs–and more modern pieces. Her first collection includes just a few pieces that work well together or on their own: upholstered chairs and sofas, tables, stools, lamps, and accessories, all handmade in England. Here are some favorites from the collection:
Above: The living room in her Battersea project features pieces from the collection, including the Chesterfield Sofa and the Big Chair.
Above: The Sculpted Lamps are available in two sizes (tall and medium) and in either black walnut or English oak; the Tall Sculpted Lamp is £350 and the Medium Sculpted Lamp is £285.
Above: The Big Chair is based on a deep-seated 19th century chair; prices start at £2,200.
Above: The Chesterfield Sofa was “inspired by a broken-down old sofa we found hidden away at the back of an auction house.” It’s available in fabric or leather and has solid brass casters; prices start at £4,200.
Above: The Salon Chair and Stool was inspired by 19th century cushion chairs; prices start at£650.
Above: A range of Trays and Boards, made from black walnut, English oak, and Scottish elm, is available; prices start at £30.
Above: The Daybed is wide enough to be used as a guest bed and is available in a range of fabrics; prices start at £2,200.
